Be in the business of shining your light.
Manifesting is so ”yesterday”.
It’s out, a thing of the past, a fancy party trick at best. If you are just beginning your spiritual journey and are all about manifesting the life of your dreams, let me be the first to tell you that you may want to pause for a second. Yes, manifesting can be fun, rewarding, and make you feel like the all-powerful Oz. But just like the man behind the curtain pulling random levers, if we are attached to or trying to control the outcome of any situation, eventually the jig will be up. Dorothy will pull back the curtain and ask us how to REALLY get home, and we will fumble around amongst all of the “things” we manifested, looking for an answer, only to come up empty handed.
So if manifesting is out, then what is in? I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and thankfully a podcast with Michael Beckwith and Kyle Cease had the answers. You can listen to that podcast here, but in summary (and my take on the discussion), this is what’s in:
ALIGNMENT.
Yes, I have been saying this for years now. If you have ever been a client or friend of mine, you have heard me say many times “your only job is to stay in alignment with your truth”. And although I keep saying it to others, it has been a real hum dinger of a process to believe it for myself. Alignment is a feeling, literally it is our INTUITION IN ACTION. It is not an external thing to draw toward us via manifesting, or even anything that makes any kind of sense to our egoic minds. Alignment is a way to navigate each and every day from INNER KNOWING.
Finding and staying in our alignment takes lots of practice. But once we are finely tuned to our own internal navigation system and release the need to control, life gets a whole lot easier. And BETTER. God can work through us and deliver dreams we never could have imagined when we were trying to “manifest” things we “want”. And perhaps the best part of all is that inner alignment is actually beneficial for everyone in our lives, not just us. Our core motivation shifts from want to LOVE when we quiet down and listen to that small still voice of intuition, and our beautiful soul lights begin to shine!
On my walk Saturday I said, out of the blue, “I am in the business of shining my light”. Going inward to then fully express outward… THAT is how we find home.
